Biography:Ray was a UCC athlete in the 1980s, and was the 1500m national champion in 1988 and 1989. He was formerly a national coach for 800m, 1500m and cross-country, including the world championships in Athens 1997. He has coached several world university track & field and cross-country teams.
Ray is also the vice-president and former chairman of the Cork city sports.
He has made great contributions to UCC’s Athletic Club. from his days as an athlete, to being the former Club President, and now again as a coach.
Ray is “Always on the lookout for fast-twitch athletes.”
